Yagya
Translated from Sanskrit, Yagya means “to offer, to give.” It is a fire offering ritual that has its origins in the spiritual practices of the Vedic religion. Other names of the yagya are agnihotra, homa, havan. There are many types of yagya. The Vedas describe 400 different types of fire sacrifice.
The purpose of a yagya can be to improve a certain area of a person’s life, overcome the negative influence of planets, or fulfill certain desires. However, the only real benefit that a person can get from the sacred ritual of yagya is the purification of consciousness and union with God.
Yagya restores balance and harmony prevails in all spheres of life because it influences from this fundamental level of existence – from the level of the Vedas, ie. from the Creation Plan level. Through yagas, diseases of mind and body are eliminated and living conditions are improved.
