Panchakarma
Panchakarma is one of the unique Ayurvedic procedures aimed at cleansing and healing the body. In direct translation, panchakarma is five actions that have a strong therapeutic effect.
According to Ayurveda, three primary life forces are present in the human body in the form of three biological elements. They are called in Sanskrit “Vata”, “Pita”, “Kapha” (in Tibetan medicine: Wind, Bile, Mucus) and are related to air, fire and water. Their activity and mobility determines the processes of growth and decay.
In Ayurveda, these biological elements are called doshas. Each of the three doshas has its own special properties, and also performs its functions and is located in certain areas of the body.
