Vipassana
Vipassana means “seeing things as they really are” and is one of the oldest meditation techniques that originated in India. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2,500 years ago and was taught to him as a universal remedy for all misfortunes – as the Art of Living. This non-sectarian technique aims at the complete eradication of the defilements of the mind and, as a result, the ultimate happiness of complete liberation.
Vipassana is a way of personal transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interrelationship of mind and body, experienced in personal experience by focusing attention on the physical sensations that make up the life of the body, which constantly interact with the mind and determine its state. It is this observation-based self-inquiry, a journey to the common sources of mind and body, that removes mental defilements. The result is a balanced mind full of love and compassion.
