What to do on the day of the Vedic ritual?
The same as on Ekadashi day.
Ekadashi is the 11th lunar day of the light and dark phases of the Moon (according to the Vedic lunar calendar), when it is customary to fast.
In addition to moderation in food, on this day it is customary to read the Holy Scriptures, practice reciting mantras, engage in charity, observe silence (mouna) and other austerities.
Ekadashi is a very popular fast not only in India, but also far beyond its borders. It is associated with God Vishnu, and therefore followers of Vaishnavism strictly observe it.
Vishnu is one of the main Gods (MahaDevas) in Hinduism, responsible for order in all Universes. His energy is very positive and life-giving. Vishnu came to Earth in different incarnations – Krishna, Dhanvantari, Matsya, Narasimha, Varaha, Buddha, Christ, etc., but these were always Virgo-creators and Soul-mentors.
HOW TO FAST ON EKADASH On the eve of fasting, on the tenth lunar day (dashami), you should not eat legumes, spinach, honey, rice. Food should be fresh, home-cooked, and taken at home. You should also abstain from gambling, alcohol and sex.
On the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) itself, you should avoid unnecessary contact with people, try to speak as little as possible, the day should be devoted to reading the Holy Scriptures, meditation, and relaxation. It is better to get up before dawn, wash/shower and do your spiritual practice.
Also, the most devoted followers of Vaishnavism stay awake on the night of the 12th lunar day, chanting mantras/bhajans and listening to spiritual lectures.
Breaking the fast must be done the next morning, 2-3 hours after sunrise. It is advisable that the first meal consist of fresh fruits (or juices).
What you can eat:
The traditional Indian approach is to avoid eating completely on this day. However, due to health conditions, high labor costs and other factors, such a harsh method is not suitable for everyone. Therefore, there is a list of products that can be used on Ekadash and which should be avoided.

For whom is the Ekadashi fast intended?
